Securus Technologies Acquires GovPayNet, Expands Payment Options For Customers

It was announced that Securus Technologies has recently acquired GovPayNet, a payment processing company that offers processing service for customers that need to pay for services such as bail, court costs and fines, property and real estate taxes, parking and traffic violations, and speeding tickets. GovPayNet is a leader in processing payments handling over 26% of the nation’s counties. CEO of GovNetPay, Mark McKenzie has viewed the purchase as a positive change for the company as Securus Technologies is a leader in the safety and security community. GovPayNet was established in 1997 by a retired law enforcement agent who saw a need to process payments more efficiently. The company now encompasses many types of payments and assists over 2,300 agencies nationwide.

CEO and President of Securus Technologies, Robert Pickens, is also excited for the partnership as Securus can expand on the type of payments posted and learn from GovPayNet’s twenty year experience with posting electronic payments. Based in Dallas, Texas, Securus Technologies is fast becoming the number one leader in providing safety and security services across the nation. Securus specializes in: emergency response, incident management, investigation, information management, biometric analysis, and inmate self service. To read more about this merger, please click here.
