In recent years, the NFL has been active against the war on cancer, particularly prostate cancer. There are a number of football players, coaches, and owners who have suffered from this disease. Several NFL players decided to link up with Cancer Treatment Centers of America and LabCorp to help men fight this sickness.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America and LabCorp were both very happy to link up with the NFL. However, their campaign is only running through October. During October, men will be able to receive a free screening for prostate cancer at a LabCorp facility. There are a dozen LabCorp facilities in each state, and some of these facilities even operate on a 24-hour period.
The 2,000 men who book their screening will receive their screening at no charge. After the 2,000 men have had their screenings, every man after this will have a fee that is under $29 dollars. Though the screening will be held at a LabCorp facility, Cancer Treatment Centers of America will be booking all the screenings. Cancer Treatment Centers of America will also have a doctor at every screening. It is believed that this screening alone will help almost 500,000 men decrease the odds of them getting prostate cancer.
